ONTARIO’S NEW CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION PLAN
On January 1, 017, Ontario’s new Five Year Action Plan on Climate Change came into force. With this development, new charges were applied to carbon based fuels including natural gas, gasoline, propone and diesel. These measures were introduced as part of Canada’s commitment under the terms of the Paris Climate Accord.
Many of the details about the changes to energy accounting are still to be worked out, but in the meanwhile are facility managers need to become far more aware about their carbon footprint, and measures that need to be taken to reduce their use of carbon based fuels.
