NORTHERN INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY TECHNOLOGY
We offer a wide range of technologies which specifically address the needs of Canada’s remote northern Indigenous communities and their unique challenges including:
-
- Long cold dark winters
- Dependence on difficult to supply diesel generators
- Long, challenging and costly supply lines
- Challenges to provide reliable maintenance
- Our growing portfolio of low maintenance renewable energy and energy conservation technology solutions can empower northern communities. We can help communities to become fully self sufficient in terms of electrical power, thermal energy, clean water and food.
GENCELL: HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS GENERATORS
- Complete energy generation systems prefabricated off-site ready for rapid deployment
- Entire system is built inside a robust standard steel shipping container
- Complete containerized energy systems can be delivered by truck, train, ship or even by air
- Each unit produces up to 1.5 MW of power and over 3,000 litres of potable water per day
- System is fueled by any supply of fresh water, a stream, river or lake – and can even use polluted water which system will filter and purify

ORYON RUN-OF-RIVER HYDRO ELECTRIC TURBINES
- Uses river current to continuously generate large amounts power
- Run-of-river turbines are designed to be placed on river bottoms avoiding dam construction
- River-bottom turbine avoids interrupting fish movement and the river navigation
- Factory-built ready for shipment to river destination ready for installation
- Easy to be dropped in place and connected to ensure rapid deployment
- Operates year-round if river is deep or fast flowing enough to avoid freezing at river bottom
- Unique turbine scoop design accelerates water flow to maximize power from slow rivers

RESILIENT WORLD INSTITUTE: SCHOOL OF ENERGY
- Practical energy training for energy professionals
- Course RWI E109 Applied Renewable Energy Technologies and Applications: This course will provide participants with an overview of renewable energy and energy storage technologies. Applications will include power generation, combined heat and power, and thermal heating and cooling. Real world case studies will be used to describe how the technologies are deployed in a practical way. Relevant government regulations, including Ontario’s new Environmental Activity Sector Registry will be discussed with considerations for Licensed Engineering Practitioners. Off-grid applications will be reviewed for remote northern communities and mining sites.
