River Current Power – Oryon

ORYON WATERMILL RIVER POWER

Rivers are very suitable for power generation, an inexhaustible source. The Oryon Watermill can be placed in rivers, in cribs or civil works such as dams and large fixed pump stations. Unlike power plants at dams or axial turbines is the Oryon Watermill 100% fish-friendly and the natural ecosystem remains unaffected. Combined with the invisibility and high efficiency, makes it the unique hydropower solution

Run-of-the-River turbines are designed to site on the river bottom where they generate power throughout the year including a Canadian winter. These robust turbines are designed to operate problem-free for many years in even the most challenging environments.

The Oryon turbines incorporate many unique features including a scoop which accelerates the water velocity to produce significant power in even very slow moving rivers.

An Oryon Watermill consists of three main components

  1. vertical axis turbine with housing;
  2. control unit;
  3. online monitoring software.

Depending on the local situation a Venturi accelerator can be installed before the entrance of the Oryon Watermill housing. This increases the water velocity and the electrical output.
